TOUR ITINARERY

Departing from Geelong at 8.15am we’ll head to Lorne through the Angelsea Heath, we’ll stop at Lorne for some  morning coffee, tea, juice or water. This is also the only fuel stop on the tour, so if you think you’ll struggle to get another 260kms out of your tank, please fill up.

Upon leaving Lorne we’ll ride up possibly the steepest bitumen road in Lorne on our way to Teddy’s Lookout. After Teddy’s lookout we’ll make our way down the Great Ocean Road.

Option 1 Route: (if it’s raining)

Turn into Sunnyside Road, ride until we get to the Carisbrook Mill ruins off Henry Road. At this point we will park our bikes and walk a 2km round trip down to the mill ruins next to the Carisbrook Creek.

If you plan to wear stiff Enduro boots for the ride you might want to put in a change of shoes for the walk, I’ve walked it many times in Forma Adventure Boots without any issues.

Option 2 Route: (if it’s not raining)

Turn onto Godfrey Track from the Great Ocean Road, turn on Jamieson Track to take in a wonderful view of the Great Ocean Road. We’ll u-turn and travel along Jamieson to Wye Road and then onto Curtis Track. At the point of Curtis Track where it meets Cumberland Creek, we’ll stop. A short walk later you’ll experience a secret cascading waterfall, not many people have experienced.

We’ll then continue along Curtis track onto Mt Sabine Road and then onto the Californian Redwoods.

Lunch Stop (Gellibrand General Store)

Gellibrand for lunch (Lasagne, salad and chips with your choice of drink).

After lunch we’ll visit Stevensons Falls, and depending on time maybe the spill way at the West Barwon Reservoir Forrest on our way back to Geelong.

We plan to be back in Geelong at Mototech by 4pm.

GENERAL TIPS

  1. It is a great idea to take an extra set of gloves, if the first pair get wet you can swap. Cold wet hands can ruin your ride.

  2. It could rain, in fact there is always a very good chance of rain in the Otways. If your riding gear is not water proof, we recommend you take a rain jacket to go over the top to keep you dry.

  3. Don’t forget to have a great time, this not a race, it is a tour. We take in the sites and enjoy the tracks along the way.

  4. Take plenty of photos and videos.

BIKE TIPS & MAINTENANCE

  1. Check tyres, if they are old, please replace them.

  2. Check brake fluid levels front and rear.

  3. Sprockets and chain, check and make sure they are in good working order.

  4. Air Filter, replace if dirty, the ride can be dusty.

  5. Make sure your tank is filled with petrol from the start.

  6. Check your wheel bearings for any movement, change if feel any wiggle in the wheel.

WAIVER FORM AND AMA INSURANCE FORM

Please download the waiver form below, I would like you to read and sign the form, then either bring it with you to the ride or scan it and email it back to me  sales@milemunchin.com.au

If you are unable to print these and bring them with you, I will have copies with me you can fill out at the start of the tour.

Each of our tours is a AMA Sanctioned Event. To complete the AMA process I will need you to download from the button below, read and sign. The completed AMA form then needs Mile Munchin’ Adventures to back to AMA for their records.

You will be an AMA member for the length of the tour.
